Ukraine says resumes electric power purchases from Russia

KIEV, Feb 1 (PRIME) -- Ukraine has restarted imports of electric power from Russia, according to a statement on the official website of energy company Ukrenergo, released on Monday.

"Russia: exports 0 megawatts per hour, imports 200 megawatts per hour," according to an infographics on the website.

Acting Energy Minister Yury Vitrenko has promised to stand for reasonable restrictions on power imports from Russia and Belarus. He also said that Kiev has to unite with the European power system and switch off the Russian system.
